Shopify, the darling of the Canadian tech scene, brought us in to create a broadcast package for their live, online (this year) annual conference: Summit.

We were given colours and grain, and had a hoot of a time building a conference intro, an outro, speaker intros & outros, and various other bits and pieces to be used if necessary — like the dreaded “technical difficulties” loop.

A boatload of style frames

To avoid getting lost in the 3D rabbit hole, we blocked out each scene in Photoshop first to iron out lighting and depth of field.

Behind the curtains.

We worked in black and white in 3D, adding colour in After Effects for better control. In many cases, we also applied depth of field in post.
